Philanthropy

One of the primary objectives of this website is to give back by sharing the knowledge and experiences we have accumulated while parenting, playing, coaching, and officiating the beautiful game. The journey has been a blessing and we are certain the best is yet to come. The future will continue teaching us, the Gómez’s, life lessons and our goal will remain intact: to assist others in their own journey. Similarly, we use football to connect with the community in different facets….

For about 20 years, every January, my brother has been giving distributing toys to families who can’t afford them. Every January 5th, on the eve of “King’s day”, he will navigate the streets of Mexico City and provide toys to kids whose families normally work as street vendors. This year, both Johan and Jonathan donated Nike (game balls) and Adidas (Tees) gear for this noble cause. Here are some pictures:

While in Louisville, Jogo participated in multiple community outreach programs. Unfortunately, this activity is not very common in Europe or at least not in the clubs they have been part (with the exception of Zwickau)

Actually, our philanthropic origins started “off the pitch” in the early 2000’s and we have tried to instill those values on to our children. Football provides yet another platform for us to make an impact and we are humbled at the opportunity of helping others. One of the ways we will continue to accomplish that is by sharing our God-given gifts and resources with different organizations.

We hope others join us (in whatever capacity) to help some of the below (or any of your choice) organizations that are in so much need of assistance. The list grows every day.

Philippians 2:3-4
In whatever you do, don’t let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble, and honor others more than yourselves. Don’t be interested only in your own life, but care about the lives of others too.
